SOUND Behavioral Health is growing, and we are hiring an Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) Clinician in Seattle, WA!
This person will work with high-risk, high acuity clients and conduct assessments in the field. Additionally, this role will require frequent communication with legal representatives, including judges.
Assisted outpatient treatment (AOT) is the practice of providing community-based mental health treatment under civil court commitment, as a means of:
(1) motivating an adult with mental illness who struggles with voluntary treatment adherence to engage fully with their treatment plan; and
(2) focusing the attention of treatment providers on the need to work diligently to keep the person engaged in effective treatment.

Location: Outreach-focused role throughout the Seattle area. Home base is located at the Capitol Hill clinic (1600 E Olive St, Seattle, Washington, 98122). This role requires driving.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Assisted Outpatient Team (AOT) is a community-based outreach team that works with clients identified as high-utilizers with a pattern of involuntary psychiatric hospitalizations, likely jail involvement and a pattern of barriers to successfully maintaining outpatient care. AOT team members work intensively with a small caseload of clients, largely in the community.
AOT team members become true resource experts as they work with people using harm reduction strategies, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused interventions to move toward positive care transitions that reduce repeat hospitalizations.
This is a rewarding and self-directed Job and services happen where the participants live and spend their time. This Job requires a person with a high level of comfort working with people who are experiencing a wide range of mental and/or behavioral disorders including actively using substances and is almost entirely community/outreach-based.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Provides direct services and/or internal and external organization referrals for clients.
Responsible for providing clinical intakes/assessments for new clients
Maintains accurate and timely clinical records according to organization policy.
Prepares necessary reports, summaries , and progress notes, and incorporates them into clinical records.
Performs consultations and liaison duties with other agencies and resources on behalf of the client.
Provides outreach, engagement, care coordination and intervention to clients.
Assists client to achieve and sustain stability in the community, thereby reducing the use of hospitals or involuntary treatment services.
Monitors medication regimes and treatment compliance.
Monitors utilization of services and the success of outcome measures.
Participates in team member meetings, consultations, case presentations and in-service training.
Participates in ongoing program development and assessment.
Works collaboratively with AOT peer and provider to support clients in achieving and sustaining stability.
Performs other duties as assigned.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS
Must be able to obtain a WA State Agency Affiliated Counselor credential within the first 60 days of hire.
Must pass a criminal background check.
Washington State driver's license and an insurable driving record are required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
To successfully perform the essential duties of this Job, an individual must be able to sit at a desk for four or more hours a day, and use office equipment, including phones and computer keyboards, for four or more hours per day. Individuals must be able to engage vendors, team members, clients and others over the phone and in-person by voice. Regular attendance is an essential function of the Job.
