SOUND Behavioral Health is growing, and we are hiring an experienced cook to prepare meals for our clients at our residential facility in the Fremont neighborhood!

Schedule: 8:00am - 6:30pm, Sunday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Saturday

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

• Prepares and serves nutritionally balanced meals twice per day for consumers and team member, following health and safety regulations.
• Prepares and supplies food to remote sites for consumers and team member, following safety and health regulations.
• Monitors food portions.
• Follows recipe cards to prepare meals, increasing or decreasing quantities as necessary.
• Prepares special menus based on consumer medical needs as directed by Kitchen Supervisor.
• Prepares food for special company events as directed by Kitchen Supervisor.
• Cleans kitchen as necessary during the work day.
• Works with consumers in a rehabilitative mode in the absence of Kitchen Supervisor.
• Participates in team member meetings, individual supervision and assigned committees, as required.
• Participates in at least 24 hours of continuing education on an annual basis.
• Maintains ethical and competent consumer and peer relationships in the delivery of service.
• Complies with all applicable federal, state and county laws and regulations, and Sound policies and procedures.
• Performs all job duties in accordance with OSHA and company-designated safety and health regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• One year of food service experience (to include cooking) in an institutional setting preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

• Must be able to obtain Food Handler’s permit within 30 days of employment.
• Must be able to obtain CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
• Must successfully pass criminal background checks.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The individual will be required to work in a kitchen and dining room, serving food and cleaning as needed. The individual must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. All Team Members at Sound working 40 hours per week will be eligible for the following benefits:

• Life Insurance (2x annual salary + additional $25,000): paid by Sound

• Retirement Plan: Sound contributes 3% to team member’s plan; team member is 100% vested.

Compensation: $23.80-$25.02 per hour.
