Mental Health needs of our community are at an all-time high! You have an opportunity to have an immediate impact and provide assistance to those in need. As a Law Enforcement Co-Responder, you will be a member of Sound’s Crisis team and based within the City of Burien. 

 

Responsibilities

As a Law Enforcement Co-Responder, you will provide immediate crisis resolutions with emphasis on the goal of stabilizing the crisis in the least restrictive way, facilitating access to mental health and substance use disorder services, providing diversion services to reduce hospitalizations, performing clinical assessments and evaluations for involuntary detention to psychiatric and substance use disorders.

  • Provide crisis outreach services working within a collaborative and supportive team environment
  • Maintain the respect and dignity of each client, the client's personal supports, and community professionals, emphasizing special population concerns.
  • Represent the agency and the profession in a manner that is equitable, thorough, highly skilled collaboration with individuals, and the community.
  • Demonstrate effective skills in case investigation, evaluation of facts, witnesses and clients, management of the interview, crisis management, the integration of facts found, and decisive decision making that leads to a safe and secure disposition.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

·  Two (2) years of experience in a Mental Health setting required.

·  Ability to obtain Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration upon hire

 

Education/Licenses/Certifications:

·  Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field required.

·  Must be a mental health professional (MHP)

·  Current Washington Driver's License and reliable transportation
