We are looking for a WISe Clinician to work with a variety of intensive-needs children and adolescent clients with behavioral health disorders and assists them and their families in becoming as healthy and engaged as possible in the community, using recovery and wraparound language and principles. 

 

This position will be responsible for providing assessment, direct clinical intervention, and supportive consultation to children, adolescent, and adult family members presenting with a wide variety of emotional, behavioral and co-occurring disorders. Services must be delivered in accordance with State fidelity standards. Delivery of therapeutic services is primarily provided in the home, school, and community. Intensive services to the child, adolescent, and family system are utilized, including ongoing consultation and collaboration with assigned WISe team members, collateral services (schools, social service agencies, inpatient facilitates, caseworkers, etc.). The team member in this Job is required to work effectively with other WISe team staff and with other child serving systems including the child welfare, education (schools), intellectual disabilities, and juvenile justice, and other systems of care, in developing holistic, strength based, recovery oriented therapeutic plans to maintain children and adolescents with significant mental health problems in the community.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  • Provide diagnostic assessment (as qualified).

  • Provide ongoing assessment of client's strengths and needs.

  • Use appropriate therapeutic modalities to build on strengths and attend to client's needs, including individual and family therapy.

  • Assist in the development of individualized cross system care plans to address the needs and priorities of the family across multiple life domains, maximizing the involvement of natural team members and community members.

  • To meet the county standards there are service intensity expectations to this position. 

  • Facilitation must support the strengths and vision of high needs children and their families, and includes collaboration with other team members which may include caregivers, DSHS DDA, school districts, the court system, community mental health and natural supports that are an integral part of the wraparound process.

  • Provide therapeutic support/psycho-education to families.

  • Provide in-home therapeutic services as indicated in the Wraparound plan.

  • Case management as needed.

  • Complete all paperwork according to agency policy and contract requirements, to include progress reports, service tickets, service plans, scheduled reviews, etc.

  • Learn and utilize Electronic Medical Records.

  • Work with team to provide ongoing safety planning for clients and families.

  • Share in on-call rotation for after-hours response to WISe program families.

  • Participate if needed with hospitalization or crisis placement of clients.

  • Attend appropriate community based networking meetings as requested.

  • Seek out additional training and support as needed.

  • Responsible for upholding a culture of privacy and security in highly confidential work environment (HIPAA covered entity service area).

  • Complies with all CCSWW policies and procedures that involve access to and safeguarding of client Protected Health Information (all forms).

  • Other work related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS

  • Has an advanced level of understanding of child and youth development and behavioral health and interventions.
  • Ability to perform individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy. Possesses and routinely demonstrates a strong working knowledge of the mental and/or behavioral health and support resources of King County and has a working knowledge with state and local health delivery systems, including knowledge of various funding principles and clinical services mandates.
  • Understands wraparound principles and recovery concepts in behavioral health; synthesizes and applies, as appropriate to their work at Sound.
  • Demonstrates the ability to learn new tasks and skills quickly, and to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, while simultaneously managing crises.
  • Ability to demonstrate the capacity to appreciate and work well with the complex and diverse population.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a counseling-related field, with a strong emphasis on working with families and community agencies preferred.
  • At least 3 years of directly related clinical experience to the program as a clinician or case manager and demonstrated skills in clinical assessment and treatment.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

  • Mental Health Professional (MHP) designation preferred.
  • Washington State driver's license and insurable driving record required.
  • Must be able to obtain a WA State Agency Affiliated Counselor credential within the first 60 days of hire.
  • Must pass a criminal background check

Pay Range: $26.52 - 27.87 per hour
